Tension remains high in Oupeye following the death of a quad driver, shot dead by the police during a check. Riots broke out for several nights in the town and in Herstal, the neighboring city.
The police made several arrests. One concerns a 24-year-old man following law enforcement found 14 molotov cocktails and gasoline in his car. According to our colleagues from Sudinfo – who report the information – the young man wanted to attack the municipal administration.
This Friday, he appeared before the Liège council chamber which confirmed his arrest warrant.
