The Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region benefits from recent rainfall, thus improving the current agricultural season (2023-2024), according to the Regional Directorate of Agriculture.

These rains favor the development of plant and animal crops, including autumn cereals, legumes, agropastoral crops, winter vegetables, pastoral vegetation and fruit trees.

Until February 23, the average rainfall reached 156 mm, also helping to improve the filling rate of the dams. Despite the initial water deficit, the agricultural campaign recorded significant achievements, with sown areas close to targets in various crops.

The health of the herd is considered satisfactory, with vaccination campaigns well advanced once morest foot-and-mouth disease and other diseases, as well as measures to mitigate the effects of rising fodder prices, including the distribution of subsidized cereals to breeders.

Fodder crops also benefited from the rainfall, which had a positive impact on livestock production, thereby improving milk and red meat production in the region.
