A new case of bird flu in a cat has been reported in South Korea. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Food, a cat that lived in an animal shelter in Seoul’s Gwanak Ward was diagnosed with the highly pathogenic H5N1 virus. The animal died in a veterinary clinic where he was treated for respiratory problems.

The ministry said it will conduct stray cat surveys from August 1 to 20 in five cities and counties near areas where highly pathogenic AI cases have been detected, as well as 24 other high-risk localities. risk of contamination.
