Recent Murders in Puerto Rico: Investigations Underway for Two Homicides in Santurce and Cidra

The authorities identified this Friday, the man who was murdered on Thursday night, at the Gulf gas station, located on Fernández Juncos Avenue, in Santurce.

According to the police report, the deceased was identified as Miguel Ángel Robles Pagán, 41 years old and resident of Cataño. He was a boxer and was known as “El loco Robles”.

The man was found with several gunshot wounds in different parts of the body and in circumstances that are under investigation.

Robles Pagán had a criminal record for gender violence and in 2012 he was arrested for violating probation related to drug crimes in New Jersey.

The deceased had a record as a boxer of 12 victories with 5 KOs, six losses and two draws.

Agents from the San Juan Homicide Division and prosecutor Isaías Ojeda were in charge of the investigation of this incident.

They identify a man murdered near a business in Cidra

Authorities investigated a violent death reported Thursday followingnoon near the Bebo’s Bar & Grill business, located on Highway 172, in the town of Cidra.

According to preliminary information, a call to the 9-1-1 Emergency System alerted the Police regarding shots fired at the aforementioned location. Upon arrival, the uniformed officers found a man identified as Jorge Luis Meléndez Santiago, 35 years old and a resident of Caguas, wounded by a gunshot.

He was transported to the Menonita Hospital in Caguas, where Dr. Nieves certified his death.

Agents assigned to the Homicide Division of the CIC of Caguas, together with prosecutor Lourdes Lorain Cruz, took charge of the investigation.
