The Israeli Magen David Adom ambulance service said in a statement, “Four people have been confirmed dead and there are four other wounded, one of them seriously” in a shooting attack near the settlement of Eli in the occupied West Bank.
On the night of Monday to Tuesday, Israeli forces killed a Palestinian near the city of Bethlehem in the southern West Bank, according to the Israeli army and the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant described the attack as “terrorist,” stressing that “every effort will be made to arrest the attackers.”
Galant said that a meeting between Israeli security leaders will take place at 6:00 pm local time (15:00 GMT).
The attack comes a day following six Palestinians were killed in a military operation by the Israeli army in the city of Jenin, in the northern occupied West Bank.

On Monday evening, a Palestinian youth was also killed in the town of Husan, near Bethlehem, in the southern West Bank.
For its part, the Israeli army said in a statement that “a suspect threw petrol bombs at Israeli soldiers who were carrying out routine operations” near the Palestinian town.
