We continue with week 2 of the 2023 NFL season. After the emotions of Thursday night’s match with the Eagles’ dominant victory over the Vikings, it is the turn of this Sunday’s games that began starting at 11:00 a.m. (Central Mexico time).
Below is the summary of the activities.
Morning game summary – Week 2 NFL 2023
Baltimore Ravens 27 @ 24 Cincinnati Bengals
Second disastrous start by QB Joe Burrow, who still suffering from calf injury which kept him away for several weeks in the preseason. While QB Lamar Jackson looks more and more comfortable in this new offense, although it was not a clean game as he lost his star WR, Odell Beckham Jr.
Seattle Seahawks 37 @ 31 Detroit Lions
Detroit continues to remind us that it is better to bet in their favor when they are not the favorites. Although it was a tight finish in overtime, the defense was once more as tough as last season and QB Jared Goff made a costly mistake once more following a long time.
Indianapolis Colts 31 @ 20 Houston Texans
Great play by rookie QB Anthony Richardson with two TD carries to put his team ahead. Indianapolis had a scare following putting him through the concussion protocol, but no one can deny that he is exactly being a first-round QB in his first year.
Chicago Bears 27 @ 17 Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Chicago was the team that invested the most in the NFL this year, but right now it is one of the worst in the national conference and it is mainly because of QB Justin Fields who is generating increasingly serious doubts. Although Tampa Bay’s start is surprising, next week they will face the Eagles and perhaps confirm if they are really a contender or that 2-0 is an illusion.
Kansas City Chiefs 17 @ 9 Jacksonville Jaguars
Kansas City returned to its winning ways as soon as it had coach Chris Jones and TE Travis Kelce back, which is no coincidence; the first scored a TD and the second was a nightmare for QB Trevor Lawrence who mightn’t score a TD the entire game. HC Doug Pederson sealed the loss for his team with poor decisions on fourth down.
Green Bay Packers 24 @ 25 Atlanta Falcons
Good game from QB Jordan Love, but the defense mightn’t contain Atlanta’s running attack in any way. In the end the Falcons little by little change their trend of past years and win close games.
Las Vegas Raiders 10 @ 38 Buffalo Bills
Buffalo beatdown that avenged the humiliating defeat last Monday night. The victim was the Raiders who simply showed up for two offensive series and collapsed. The doubts regarding HC Josh McDaniels fall once more, but it is that defense that is most questionable.
Los Angeles Chargers 24 @ 27 Tennessee Titans
Another game that the Chargers cannot close to win in regulation time and they lose it in overtime. It is increasingly noticeable that HC Brandon Staley is living his last year in the organization, but an exit before the end of the campaign cannot be ruled out at all; He is too much wasted talent with this staff.
Afternoon game summary – Week 2 NFL 2023
San Francisco 49ers 30 @ 23 Los Angeles Rams
Great effort from the Rams for three quarters, however, it is impossible to keep up with these Niners at the start of this season. Those with QB Brock Purdy go like silk on offense, while the defense is difficult to evade throughout the game.
New York Giants 31 @ 28 Arizona Cardinals
Many are going to celebrate the visitors’ comeback, however, the Giants continue to exhibit a lot of problems on both sides of the ball that are only covered up by beating the worst team in the NFL. A good team easily wins this by beating, they don’t celebrate coming from behind.
Games starting at 2:25 p.m. (Central Mexico)
New York Jets 10 @ 30 Dallas Cowboys
The Jets are trying so hard to avoid QB Zach Wilson’s mistakes that they forget regarding making more of them on the rest of the team. The very conservative way in which this offense has been running lately makes this dynamic unsustainable and it is to be expected that they will look for a new QB in the coming days. Dallas is simply the best team in the NFC East, but we want to see if they can stay that way until January.
Russell Wilson, QB de los Broncos Washington Commanders @ Denver Broncos
Second loss in a row for the HC Sean Payton/QB Russell Wilson duo; While they played slightly better on offense, it’s really disappointing the roster they have and how much they seem spread out. The Washington Commanders caught inspiration shortly following losing their TE Logan Thomas (concussion) to a dirty hit by S Kareem Jackson. Most misleading undefeated team in the NFL?
Sunday night
Miami Dolphins 24 @ 17 New England Patriots
Another game full of errors from the Pats offense, so now without Matt Patricia, it is difficult to omit the blame for QB Mac Jones and the lack of talent around, caused by HC Bill Belichick. While Miami is the opposite extreme and is deservedly the best team in the AFC East right now, probably in the entire conference as well.
Monday night doubleheader
New Orleans Saints 20 @ 17 Carolina Panthers
New Orleans’ attack has not been as expected thanks to QB Derek Carr, but with a great defense they continue with a perfect early start by winning two victories, the most recent this Monday night once morest the Panthers who look hopeless no head Maybe too soon to say, but with QB Bryce Young, the first overall pick in the most recent draft, Carolina looks like the weakest team in the NFC South and is already two games behind its three division rivals.
Cleveland Browns 22 @ 26 Pittsburgh Steelers
Deshaun Watson continues to not be the great quarterback he was between 2018 and 2020, so in Cleveland it is time to set off the alarm, especially considering that Nick Chubb will be out for the rest of the year following his terrible knee injury. In other words, it’s time for Watson to show that he’s worth all the guaranteed money the Browns offered him. For their part, the Steelers of recent campaigns have the same trademark: stellar defense, worrying offense. This time it paid off, but will they be able to fight all year in a very competitive American Conference?
