Recall of sandwiches and wraps potentially containing pieces of plastic

Watch what you eat on the go on your lunch break these days. Système U and Leclerc both issued a recall on Monday of unfit sandwiches and wraps, reports Capital.

According to the sheets published on the official Rappel Conso website, the food might contain inert foreign bodies, such as small pieces of hard plastic, blue in color. It is therefore imperative not to consume them “because of the risk of injury or adverse effects following the ingestion of this product”.

Reimbursement possible in store

At Système U, several batches are being recalled, such as the “goat cheese tomato rocket sandwiches” clubs (210 g) or the “goat cheese vegetable wraps” (180 g) from the U brand. The use-by date (BBD) for these products is set for April 7 or 10, 2023. For its part, Leclerc recalled “goat cheese and vegetable sandwich” clubs (145 g) from the Côté Snack brand and “tomato goat cheese wraps” (190 g) from the Nat&Vie brand, sold at the end of March. The DLC for these lots has been set for April 10 or 13, 2023.

In all cases, consumers are invited to destroy the affected products or return them to the store to obtain a refund. In case of ingestion of one of these sandwiches, it is strongly recommended to consult a doctor quickly. The recall procedure will end on April 15 for Système U products and on April 19 for Leclerc.
