The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has announced the recall of certain packages of Enfamil brand Nutramigen A+ LGG Hypoallergenic infant formula.

The products affected are 561 gram formats or four-packs of 561 gram containers of Nutramigen A+ LGG Hypoallergenic, distributed nationwide. Their expiration date is January 1, 2025.

The products might have been contaminated by the bacteria Cronobacter sakazakii. This is not commonly linked to human diseases, but it can still cause, in rare cases, serious and sometimes fatal infections.

People who have products affected by the recall should not consume them, but rather throw them away or return them to the place where they were purchased.

Persons who believe they have become ill following consuming this product should contact their health care provider.
