Rebirth in Rome: Can a Stunner Over Lazio Lift Juventus Out of Its Mid-Season Malaise

TORINO – The range of wingers available to Thiago Motta, in view of the match against Lazio next Saturday, is experiencing a phase of contraction. They weigh, in this sense, two absences: one certain, the other possible. These are Francisco Conceiçao and Timothy Weah (as well as Nico Gonzalezwho is recovering from the lesion of the rectus femoris): the first was dismissed by the Sports Judge after his sending off against Cagliari, the second remained at Continassa and is doing everything possible to recover quickly from the ankle injury, but he is not still considered among the available for the next championship match. For this reason Motta could once again draw from Next Gen to fill out the lanes.

Comenencia Idea by Motta

The first name, the most convenient one for dealing with external emergencies, is that of Livano Comenencia, who however will return to Turin only next week: with the Curacao national team, in fact, he will play in the Concacaf Nations League tomorrow evening and on Monday against Grenada. A call to the first team is not yet certain: it will also depend on how the national teams around the world return, but Comenencia’s candidacy is the most credible for a temporary and immediate leap. With Next Gen he will miss the match the day after tomorrow against Giugliano, but in these days he hopes to express himself to the fullest in the national team: he knows that he will have Juventus’ eyes on him and not only those of Paolo Montero, eager to take the Bianconeri quickly out of the relegation zone of group C. For Comenencia, therefore, there will be days of waiting for a call up to the first team: for more than a year he has been working to achieve this first, great objective.
