[메디컬투데이=김준수 기자] Many people are struggling with hair loss these days. Hair loss is mostly caused by genetics, and many people are worried because it can be affected by various factors such as stress, hormones, and nutritional status. Temporary hair loss can be improved by removing the cause, but if you have already lost a lot of hair, you can use hair transplantation or scalp tattooing.
Some focus on covering bald areas by wearing hats or wigs. However, it is not a problem that can be solved by covering it up, and if sweat and sebum accumulate on the skin, the condition may worsen. Therefore, it is good to analyze and treat different causes of hair loss while improving the aesthetic aspect through treatments tailored to each individual.
Hair transplantation is a surgical method in which hair follicles are harvested from the back of the head, where there is relatively thick hair, and then transplanted to the area where hair is lost. This can improve various problems, such as improving the M-shaped forehead line or supplementing the lack of hair from the forehead to the crown of the head.
At this time, an appropriate method can be selected from among the incision method and the non-incision method. The incision method has no limit on the number of hair follicles collected, so it is suitable for cases where a large amount of hair is lost. However, you can feel the burden of the scar a little. The non-incisional method has less burden on scars or marks, but may not be suitable for some cases because the number of hair follicles is limited.

Regarding this, Hyungbin Son, director of Anyang Hannaive Plastic Surgery Clinic, said, “Each surgical method has different pros and cons, so it is good to make a decision following sufficiently discussing it with experienced medical staff. A greater synergistic effect can be expected if scalp tattooing is performed on the top of the head and the parted area while performing hair transplant. Scalp tattooing is a procedure that makes it look like there is hair without damaging the hair follicles, making it look thicker and more natural. In particular, scalp tattoos can cover scars following hair transplant surgery, so it is good to use both methods at the same time.”
However, since hair transplantation is a very difficult operation, it is necessary to check whether skilled medical staff with multiple careers are directly treating it. In addition, it is good to proceed following checking whether scalp tattoos can be treated for side effects such as safe and proven pigments and post-procedure inflammation and hair loss.
