realme’s new really cheap wireless headphones

In addition to a very interesting range of smartphones, realme also has several references of wireless headphones in its catalog. The manufacturer has just unveiled a new model this week which is distinguished by a price at the bottom of the daisies.

The Buds Q2s are realme’s latest wireless headphones, which the manufacturer has been teasing for a long time. Here they are now official, and fans of the Buds Q2 and Buds Q2 Neo will not be out of place. In terms of design, the product is indeed very close to its predecessors!

No ANC, but Dolby Atmos

The case bets on originality with a transparent flap. Three colors are available: black, green and white. The last two are also the same color as the GT2 Pro Master Edition, a smartphone launched at the end of last year. The headphones themselves incorporate 10mm drivers that will play songs in AAC and SBC, two of the most popular codecs on this type of headphones.

The headphones are also IPX4 certified for water resistance and they connect to the smartphone via Bluetooth 5.2. One of the peculiarities of the Buds Q2s is the absence of active noise cancellation (ANC), which goes once morest market trends. However, this allows them to increase their autonomy a little, which is 7 hours on a charge, and up to 30 hours with the case which recharges in USB-C.

In exchange for the absent ANC, realme offers an “environmental” noise cancellation system for calls, which probably corresponds to a drop in noise during phone calls. The headphones also offer a “game” mode with a latency of 88 ms, as well as Dolby Atmos support for spatialized songs.

Unsurprisingly, control of the earbuds comes through gestures as well as realme’s Link app. For 199 yuan, or around €29, it’s hard to ask for better, especially since the Buds Q2s are supplied with a USB-C cable and three tips of different sizes. Unfortunately, the manufacturer has not indicated whether it intends to launch these headphones elsewhere than in China.
