No information on the time when the aircraft will leave Tel Aviv and arrive in Brussels has been confirmed.
An A400M took off on Saturday shortly following 10:00 a.m. towards Larnaca (Cyprus). He will return to Tel Aviv (Israel) as soon as the necessary contacts have been made on site with the Belgians who wish to be repatriated, Defense Minister Ludivine Dedonder indicated earlier in the day.
“A military flight is safer and will allow evacuation in better security conditions,” Foreign Minister Hadja Lahbib stressed on Friday.
According to Minister Lahbib, there are currently around 10,000 Belgians who also have dual nationality on site, as well as at least 180 tourists. As of 4 p.m. on Friday, fewer than 100 Belgians had declared that they were stranded and wanted to return home.
