Real Murcia starts the league with a comeback and victory in Seville (1-2)

Fran Fernández’s team beat Sevilla Atlético after a comeback led by Pedro León who scored a double

Real Murcia kicked off the season by travelling to Seville to face the reserve team from Seville, which is returning to the First Division after two seasons away. For this first league match, Fran Fernández opted for a starting eleven made up of the players with the most experience during the pre-season. While on the bench, recent signings such as Juan Carlos Real and Esteban Saveljich were waiting for their chance.

Although the team did not start the match very well, as a failed ball clearance led to the home team’s goal after 3 minutes. However, Fran Fernández’s boys did not give up in the face of this first blow. Based on high pressure and a team focused on the opponent’s half, the equaliser would come. Pedro León converted the penalty that was made on Alberto González after a foul taken by the Grana captain himself.

After the equaliser, Real Murcia took advantage of the momentum of the goal to look for the second, which would come after a pass from Alberto González that left Pedro León alone against Alberto Flores to score the goal that gave the grana a comeback. After the goal came the hydration break that slowed the pace of the match until half-time.

For the second half, Fran Fernández introduced Juan Carlos Real, who had his first minutes as a Grana. This second half continued with the match under control of Real Murcia, who had several chances at goal and were able to resist Sevilla’s attempts at their goal. Pedro Benito also came on, who was decisive for the Pimentoneros, causing Hormigo to be sent off in an attempt where the Almería striker was left alone against the goalkeeper and in the next play he took a penalty, after a handball in the Sevilla area. However, Carrillo sent his shot wide.

The minutes passed and the legs were heavy for both teams, although they were outnumbered, Sevilla Atlético had a very dangerous chance that was not scored thanks to a providential play by Gazzaniga. Unfortunately, Alberto González was sent off for a second yellow card, but the team did not notice his absence in the remaining minutes. The next match for the Granas will be next Sunday against Yeclano Deportivo at 8:00 p.m. at the Enrique Roca Stadium in Murcia.
