“There were a lot of videos and recordings regarding this boy that we might use and we talked to a number of experts regarding it. It was really interesting because I really didn’t even understand how warts develop. We also had to figure out how this might have happened in America because the little boy that this happened to lived in this little remote village on an island and therefore had no access to medical care. So we had to base our premise on the character’s withdrawn backstory, and then we might take it and use it.”

[…] It was one of those cases from the Grey’s Anatomy story that we kept on the board and kept in the room like, “What regarding penis fish for this story?!” It appeared in so many episodes before it came in, it was hilarious.
