Kepa arrived at Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2018 from Athletic Bilbao and quickly established himself as a first choice since his first season.
Real Madrid signed a contract with his compatriot, international goalkeeper Kepa Arisabalaga, from Chelsea, on a one-season loan, according to what was announced on Monday, in order to compensate for the absence of the Belgian Thibaut Courtois, who suffered an injury that will keep him away from most of the current season.

The club said in a statement: “Real Madrid and Chelsea have agreed to loan the player Kepa Arisabalaga until June 30, 2024.”
Courtois, 31, suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee during training on Thursday and will undergo surgery in the coming days.
Arisabalaga (28 years old), the former Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper, who moved to Chelsea for a record amount of 80 million euros for a goalkeeper in 2018, has been associated with Bayern Munich since the start of the summer transfer period.
Kepa arrived at Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2018 from Athletic Bilbao and quickly established himself as a first choice since his first season. He participated in 54 matches during the 2018-2019 season, which ended with Chelsea winning the European League.
The Spanish goalkeeper played another 109 matches with the “Blues” over the next four seasons, and managed to win the European Champions League, the European Super Cup and the Club World Cup with him.
Kepa took the captain’s armband for the first time last season and re-established himself in the national team’s squad.
