Turkey youngster Arda Güler joins Real Madrid. The club of ÖFB captain David Alaba agreed with Fenerbahce Istanbul on a transfer of the 18-year-old midfielder, as the Spanish record champions announced on Thursday. Güler has been given a six-year contract and is due to be officially unveiled on Friday.
According to reports, several top European clubs had advertised for the top talent, and Real’s arch-rival FC Barcelona are said to have been very interested in Güler’s commitment. The young star still had a contract with Fenerbahce until 2025, but is said to have an exit clause for a fee of 17.5 million euros. According to the media, Real Madrid even paid around 20 million euros for the change.
