Real Madrid gave away a homegrown player last transfer summer who took off at his new club. Los Blancos are now said to regret the decision.
Nico Paz has developed from a promising player into one of the most talked about names in international football. At just 20 years old, the left-footer, who plays under Cesc Fàbregas at Como, impressed on his debut for the Argentine national team when he assisted Lionel Messi in the clear win against Bolivia (6-0).
As AS reports, there are quite a few people at Real Madrid who argue that it was a big mistake to let Paz go last summer. Como paid a transfer fee of six million euros, and Paz fitted in excellently with four direct goals in seven Serie A games.
However, Real is said to have not lost access to its own product; according to reports, Los Blancos have a buyback option for an unknown amount. Paz, who was also on the list at BVB, had played in the second team of the Spanish record champions before his departure and only played eight games for the professionals.
At Concha Espina they are now asking themselves whether they missed out on offering a great talent from La Fabrica at least the opportunity to establish himself permanently with the professionals.
