Real estate: ‘Some energy renovations can bring in up to 3600 euros per year’

The Batibouw salon has just opened its doors. The opportunity for the construction sector to recall the financial benefits to be achieved if we invest in terms of energy savings. On the set of QR l’actu, Hugues Kempeneers speaks of a saving of up to several thousand euros per year: “Some energy renovations can bring in up to 3600 euros per year in terms of energy savings”.

And many energy renovations are still to be carried out. In Belgium, half of the housing stock dates from before the Second World War. And as the director of Embuild Wallonia reminds us, the political leaders have set themselves ambitious objectives: “The ambition of the Walloon Region is to have an energy certificate A by 2050 for the average dwelling. With some buildings, it is obviously quite possible to significantly improve the energy score, for others, it is necessary to consider demolition and reconstruction”. Hugues Kempeneers adds that renovation grants are essential for the construction sector. “One euro of public money represents 7 euros in construction. I believe that the public authorities support our sector and the lowest incomes well, even if we can always wish for better”.
