YOU, MY ROOF – Favorites, more or less crazy projects, struggles and capital gains… In this series, the French tell Le Figaro about their real estate adventures. This couple who chose to settle in Quebec were quickly able to buy a comfortable apartment where their family grew.

With her husband Benoît, 39 years old, Camille, 41 years old, spontaneously describes herself as a perfect incarnation of “real middle class”. In their professional beginnings, this computer engineer from Centrale Lille and this independent web designer earn a reasonably good living. They manage to find accommodation in Paris, but becoming an owner there seems totally out of reach for them. Thanks to a good family plan, between 2012 and 2016 they rented a 60 m² apartment in the 15th arrondissement for 1,650 euros per month. The accommodation, in a building from the 60s, is really “in his juice” but the price remains attractive for such an area, very well located near the Cambronne metro station.

“I remember very precisely that when we left the premises, they sold for 625,000 euros with several offers, explains Camille.
