Réal Béland will relocate, starting Thursday, on the CASA channel, with his new show “Réal disembarks”, in which he will help people do their manual work.

After “Réal dans mes rénos” and “Dad hammer”, the comedian will this time browse hardware stores in search of renovation projects to do in people’s homes.

“It’s like contact network, but it happens in a hardware store”, illustrated in particular the song of the credits at the end of each episode.

Whether it’s a laundry room, a games room or a backyard, anything is possible for him and his team, designer Daphné Morin and entrepreneur Martin Labonté.

“If a project interests me, we go directly to [la personne] evaluate the work. If it works for everyone, we will give her a helping hand for a day and we try to do a play with her for around $2,000,” Réal Béland told Agence QMI.

The participant can also contribute to the project kitty if they wish, he said.

Carpentry lover and “real world” lover, the animator-renovator is completely in his place in this new format that he developed himself and which suits him perfectly.

“I like manual trades. On my mother’s side, they were all carpenters in the family. I worked on construction when I was in school. And in a “show” like that, with real people, I’m really in my element,” he said.

The project of “Real arrives” was also in the plans for a while already, confided the comedian in an interview. However, he was put on ice for the production of “Papa Hammer”, a program in which we followed him, and the rest of his family clan, to give a hand to his eldest Charlotte for the construction of his house in the Laurentians. .

The idea would therefore have come to him during his frequent visits to the hardware store. “Hardware stores, I already know them pretty well by heart. The people who are there are often very interesting, they have projects and are happy,” he added.

Small adjustments along the way

While filming the show, the team realized that the time between the first meeting and the work was sometimes too short. All in all, she adjusted along the way to provide herself with an extra day of shopping and conceptualization.

“At first, we were supposed to go to the participant the next day, but we finally gave ourselves a day in between to allow Daphne to shop a little more, especially with the stock-outs. It also allows us to go to another place when something is missing, ”explained the comedian.

The latter also indicated that some projects during the season took more than one day to complete.

Back to the radio and a break-in tour

Réal Béland will be back on the radio this fall in “Les Spéciales du Midi” at 96.9 CKOI with Neev and Marjorie Vallée. “It’s the dream figure of the little old man, we don’t get up too early and we don’t finish too late,” he said, laughing.

At the same time, the comedian will begin the running-in of his new show, “Comme chez nous”, which he will test once more for the next year and a half. This show should contain a lot more stand up, but also some essentials, like the famous M. Latreille.

We can also see the iconic character come to life on TVA this winter, just following the holidays, in a one-hour special entitled “Mr. Latreille face-to-face”. During the show, the comedian will begin his numbers with a phone call, as he usually does on stage, then fully transform into character to end the call in person.

“Real arrives” will be broadcast on CASA, starting this Thursday at 9 p.m.
