Fawad Chaudhry in a tweet on the social networking website Twitter said that ‘We at the Ministry of Science and Technology are fully prepared to launch Pakistan’s first OTT television (Pakistani version of Netflix)’.

“And with this we will launch it under public private partnership,” he added.

Social media users have expressed happiness over the above announcement of Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry.

However, till now there was no such online streaming platform in Pakistan that was offered locally.

It should also be kept in mind that 5 Pakistani original online series will be released on Indian streaming website Zee Five, one of which ‘Childs’ was released in August.

Foreign Web Platform When Pakistan’s first original web series was released, the need for a similar platform was emphasized by many.

There is no word yet on when Pakistan’s first government streaming website will be launched and what content will be broadcast on it.
