The first two stages of the first 500 meters for women are over. Isabel Grevelt is in stage 9, Femke Kok in stage 12 and Jutta Leerdam in stage 14.

The Dutch men and women ride their first distances against formidable opponents. For example, Jutta Leerdam will ride both her 500 and 1000 meters against the American Kimi Goetz and Isabel Grevelt and Femke Kok will both ride against Miho Takagi once today. The Dutch men (Kjeld Nuis, Jenning de Boo and Joep Wennemars) all compete against other opponents in both the 500 and 1000 meters. The final stage of the 1000 meters, the Boo against the Canadian Laurent Dubreuil, is perhaps the most spectacular stage on paper. Read the full draw here.

Welcome to the live blog of the first day of the ISU World Allround & Sprint Championships. The female sprinters kick off this tournament with their first 500 and 1000 meters. This is today’s program.
