CHAIRMAN of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto, responded to the issue that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) would become a cadre of the party. However, Airlangga responded by joking that Jokowi and Golkar had met because of closeness.
“Pak Jokowi and the Golkar Party have indeed had a meeting,” said Airlangga at the Golkar Party DPP office, Slipi, West Jakarta, Sunday (10/3).
Airlangga said Jokowi often appears in all Golkar advertisements. This was claimed to be a form of the Head of State getting closer to Golkar.
“So, because the meeting has already come together, just look at the advertisements for the Golkar Party with Pak Jokowi. So of course this shows the closeness of Pak Jokowi and Pak Jokowi’s comfort with the Golkar Party,” said Airlangga.
Deputy General Chair Ahmad Doli Kurnia Tandjung said that Golkar was actually open to anyone joining. All elements of society who have the same vision as Golkar will have their doors opened.
“Never mind a president, just an ordinary person, if they feel that their aspirations are the same, their interests are the same, their struggles are the same, their values are the same, and they want to join the Golkar Party, we are very happy with just one member of society, let alone a president,” said Doli.
