According to the SP, communes and cantons should be given the opportunity to check rental prices for translated returns in particularly stressed areas – for example in cities or at tourist hotspots.
The Federal Council should also issue a rent moratorium. Only if landlords can show that they are not generating excessive returns would higher rents be permissible.
