West Java Province (Jabar) becomes a loan user online (pinjol) the highest in Indonesia. Until June 2024, there were 4.7 million West Java residents recorded as pinjol users with total financing reaching IDR 16.5 trillion.
Head of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Regional 2 of West Java Province, Indarto Budiwitono, said that by April 2024, there were almost 17 million Pinjol users throughout Indonesia with total financing of IDR 63 trillion.
“And based on reports up to June 2024, it was recorded that the people of West Java were the highest users of online loans in Indonesia with 4.7 million users and total financing of almost IDR 16.5 trillion,” said Indarto after declaring the Movement to Reject Online Gambling and Illegal Online Loans in Bekasi City, Monday (22/7).
He said that the condition should not be considered an achievement even though West Java is recorded as having the most pinjol users in Indonesia. Instead, it should be used as a reflection and at the same time increase preventive measures to minimize the losses experienced if
caught in illegal loans.

“First check the legality and logical value of a loan application. OJK will certainly claim legality if the loan costs and profits for the borrowing company are still reasonable,” he explained.
He also reminded us that it is important to know that the loan application only uses three features. smartphone, namely camera, microphone, and location. “So if you access outside of these three features, it is certain that it is an illegal loan,” he said.
