Re-operation of the railway line between Algeria and Tunisia after 3 decades of interruption

The company added that the official launch signal for this line will be given on August 10, and the first commercial flight will depart from the Tunis station on August 11, while the first commercial flight will depart from the Annaba station on Tuesday, August 13.

The train, which will transport passengers on this line over a distance of 357 km, consists of two first-class carriages and two second-class carriages, with a capacity of up to 300 passengers per trip, in addition to a carriage to ensure catering services during the trip and an additional carriage designated for transporting luggage.

The company stated that a daily flight between the two countries will be scheduled in the first phase, starting from Annaba station, passing through Souk Ahras, Ghar El Dima, Jendouba, and Beja, arriving at the capital Tunis, and that the number of flights will gradually be increased and the number of seats will be increased according to the demand registered by passengers.

The trip schedule will be as follows: departing from Annaba train station on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:00 a.m. to arrive in Tunis at 6:27 p.m., and departing from Tunis station on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8:25 p.m. to arrive in Annaba at 6:20 p.m.

The crossing procedures will be carried out at the Souk Ahras International Station for Algeria and at the Ghar El Dimaa Station for Tunisia.

Passengers can purchase tickets at Annaba and Souk Ahras stations, or at Algiers, Oran and Constantine stations.

A competitive price was set compared to other means of transportation, as the price of a first-class ticket was 1,900 DZD (about 45 Tunisian dinars), and the price of a second-class ticket was 1,640 DZD (about 38 Tunisian dinars).

The price of a first-class round-trip ticket is 3,485 DZD (80 Tunisian dinars), and the price of a second-class round-trip ticket is 3,040 DZD (70 Tunisian dinars), with free transportation for children under 4 years old, in addition to a 50% discount for children from 4 to 12 years old.
