The Minister of Health in the caretaker government, Firas Al-Abyad, revealed that “there is a new “Corona” wave that Lebanon is witnessing as well as the countries of the world, and there is an increase in the number of cases in hospitals,” stressing at the same time that “the situation is still under control.”
In an interview with “Voice of All Lebanon” (93.3), Al-Abyad indicated that “we advise citizens to receive the vaccine, especially the fourth dose, and we also stress the issue of precautionary measures and personal protection measures.”
Al-Abyad announced that “so far, there is no intention to re-close the country in light of the economic situation that Lebanon is going through.”
In addition, Al-Abyad explained that “there are 4 cases of “monkey pox” out of 20 suspects, and we are dealing with the matter in terms of tracking cases and conducting examinations, and an isolation unit has been established at Rafic Hariri Hospital, but there is no case that needs a hospital.”
