The Bundesliga club is surprisingly parting ways with sports director Max Eberl with immediate effect.

Bang in Saxony: One day before the top game once morest Bayern Munich, Max Eberl was fired as sports director at RB Leipzig. The reason given by the club on Friday was a “lack of commitment” from the 50-year-old, who has recently been repeatedly linked to Bayern Munich.
The Saxons accused him of a lack of commitment to Leipzig. «The lack of commitment to the club led us to this decision. This happens completely independently of the squad change and the sporting results,” the RB statement continued.
Sports director Rouven Schröder will take over the sporting management of the Bundesliga club, the cup winner announced.
Gladbach exit due to exhaustion
Eberl only took up his position in Leipzig last December following resigning from Borussia Mönchengladbach in January 2022, citing his own exhaustion. The 50-year-old has already been considered a candidate for FC Bayern several times in the past. According to the club, he had a “long-term contract” in Leipzig.
