Slavia started the main phase of the Europa League with a controlled win at Ludogoretsu Razgrad, probably the weakest opponent that awaits them at this stage of the competition. She adds three important points to the table and, as in the vast majority of matches in the domestic league, she also went through the match in Bulgaria without conceding a goal.
Coach Jindřich Trpišovský sent an altered lineup for the match compared to the domestic league, in which the injured Ogbu had to be absent (he was replaced by Zima). However, players who had played sporadically so far – especially Conrad Wallem and Matěj Jurásek – surprisingly appeared on the pitch. Wallem was very uncertain in the first half, but Jurásek paid off for Trpišovský. In the 37th minute, after being knocked down by Choré, he shot past the Razgrad goalkeeper and Slavia took the lead.
Opponent pre-match profile
This was reassuring for the red and white, because otherwise the home team started the match more actively and got into dangerous situations in front of goalkeeper Kinski.
The half-empty stands, from which only the cheering of a group of Slavist supporters could be heard, watched more minutes in the second half, in which Slavia maintained their lead and controlled the match more and more as time went on.
In the 60th minute, Trpišovský sent Lingro and Chytil into the game and again had a lucky hand. After just five minutes, after Provod’s pass, Chytil shot past the Razgrad goalkeeper for the second time, and the division of points was practically decided.
On Thursday, Viktoria Plzeň (plays in Frankfurt) will play in the Europa League.
