Razer unveils Edge, its portable cloud gaming console

After the great success of the Steam Deck, from Valve, and the arrival of the Logitech Cloud Gaming Handheld, it is the turn of the computer gaming accessories company Razer to launch into the arena of portable consoles of cloud video game (cloud gaming) with Edge.

The handheld will feature the Android operating system and a G3x chip from Qualcomm. It is a removable 6.8-inch tablet, that is, it can be detached from the controller, a Kishi V2 Pro.

Players will be able to connect their headphones to the Edge, equipped with Bluetooth 5.2 technology. Instavideographers will also be able to film themselves and broadcast their games on Twitch live from their portable console, thanks to an integrated front camera.

The device will allow you to launch video games in the cloud through services such as Xbox Cloud Gaming, Nvidia GForce Now or the Steam Link application from Valve.

This portable console is not within the reach of all wallets: for its launch scheduled for January, the model with wi-fi connection will retail from US$400 (around CA$550). This amount is slightly higher than the Logitech Cloud Gaming Handheld. The device can only be reserved in the United States at this time for a fee of US$5 (approximately CA$7).
