Most of Razer’s products revolve around entertainment, and more specifically around the “gamer” computer: illuminated keyboards and mice, lighting for case, etc. But it looks like the company wants to extend its reach to every corner of your home, or at least wherever you use smart lights! At CES 2022, the company indeed announced its intention to launch an application Razer Smart Home for mobile, which she says is a “simple, yet powerful tool that puts complete, unified control in the hands of the user”. With it, Razer plans to make it easy to set up, customize, and sync all of your lights, regardless of manufacturer.
The future of smart home life has never been brighter. Razer Chroma RGB has been a fan favorite since its inception, and today Razer marries technology and functionality in the Razer Smart Home app, giving users complete creative control over their surroundings. ”

The news is not that surprising: during our test of the Razer Cynosa V2 keyboard, we had already seen in the lighting control application, Synapse, that it was possible to manage the color of the keyboard lighting, but also our Philips Hue bulbs to synchronize all the lighting with our game , to add further immersion (and fun!).
But a mobile app, in theory, seems like an easier way to quickly expand the number of partners, since many lamps support Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
Razer takes the opportunity to use the CES 2022 stage to send an open invitation to any company interested in joining its program. Razer Chrome Smart Home. Currently, Razer Chroma RGB supports thousands of devices across more than 50 hardware partners (like Nanoleaf, LIFX, Yeelight, Monster and Twinkly) and over 200 native built-in games, making it the world’s largest lighting ecosystem for gaming devices. The software delivers an unparalleled immersive experience and gives users the power to fully customize their gaming setup on PC to reflect their personal style. It’s a safe bet that other connected lighting manufacturers will soon be added.

Razer shared a unique screenshot of what its smart home app will look like, showing a simple layout that seems to make it easy to turn lights on and off in rooms, as well as changing their color.
It will juggle among the 16.8 million colors, as well as a series of light effects that will allow users to personalize their mood lighting and even create an immersive environment that reacts to all their leisure equipment. Razer’s app will also offer customizable routines. The company hasn’t shared what the process of configuring each light will look like or what other settings there will be.
Unfortunately, we have few additional details. We don’t know if this app will do without official apps, and if it will go beyond connected lights. There is little chance, to tell the truth, the concept being centered on Chroma RGB, specialized in the management of the lighting. But do you ever know?
