PHOENIX — Luke Raley homered in the first inning, Wander Franco and Josh Lowe each drove in two runs in a five-run third and the Tampa Bay Rays beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-1 on Thursday night.

Tampa Bay won two of three in a 1998 expansion series. The Rays continue to lead the majors at 56-28, while Arizona leads the NL West at 48-34.

D-backs right fielder Corbin Carroll left following four innings with a sore right shoulder.

Yonny Chirinos (4-3) allowed one run and seven hits in just over six innings in relief of starter Zach Littel. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hit his 12th home run of the season to start the seventh.

Brandon Pfaadt (0-3) allowed six runs and seven hits in just over two innings as his ERA rose to 9.82. Pfaddt was recalled from Triple-A for his sixth start.

For the Rays, Cuban Yandy Díaz 3-0 with a run scored. Dominicans Wander Franco 5-2 with a run scored and two RBIs, Francisco Mejía 4-0, Manuel Margot 4-0, Vidal Bruján 3-1 with a run scored. Colombian Harold Ramírez 4-2 with a run scored and an RBI. The Mexican Isaac Paredes 3-1.
