‘Rawalpindi Express’: Film on Shoaib Akhtar’s life announced

Pakistan’s famous former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has confirmed on Sunday that a film based on his life is going to be released soon.

Shoaib Akhtar said on his YouTube channel that the film titled ‘Rawalpindi Express.Running Against the Odds’ will be released on November 16, 2023, directed by Mohammad Faraz Qaiser.

46-year-old Shoaib Akhtar, who was nicknamed the ‘Rawalpindi Express’ for his blistering pace during his playing days, also shared a 25-second motion poster of the film on his YouTube channel.

The motion poster shows a man running on a railway track. On getting closer, Shoaib Akhtar’s name and number 14 can be seen written on the shirt. This video clip was viewed 5000 times in just 20 minutes.

It is not yet known which actor will play the role of Shoaib Akhtar, but Shoaib Akhtar, who is a famous player turned commentator, has once expressed his wish that Bollywood superstar Salman Khan will play his role on the big screen.
