Ravindra Jadeja Man of the Match; But the fine has to be paid, along with demerit points! I know the reason

Nagpur: Ravindra Jadeja is celebrating his return to the Indian team following five months. Jadeja took 7 wickets and 70 runs in the Test. With this, Jadeja was also selected as the player of the match. Jadeja is also happy with his comeback performance. He shared that following the match.

Jadeja owes a lot to the National Cricket Academy for his comeback. Jadeja’s words… “Very happy to be able to make a comeback like this. Exceeding to shine with bat and ball. All due to NCA. Always tried to bowl to the wicket itself. The ball was turning. Tried to bowl only in good area. If they made a mistake, they would have got the wicket,” said Jadeja.

Along with the happiness comes a disappointing news. The player was slapped with one demerit point and fined 25 percent of the match fee for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct. Punishment for applying pain relief cream on finger without Ampa’s permission. The video of Jadeja applying cream on his hand has led to a lot of discussion. It was argued that the player tampered with the ball.

The Indian team management had given an explanation for the discussions. ICC match referee Andy Pcroft was informed by the team management that Jadeja had applied pain-relieving cream on his fingers. Jadeja had taken three wickets when the incident took place during the first innings. It was time to bring Marnus Labuschagne, Steven Smith and Matt Renshaw to the pavilion.
