Ravi Shastri wants to reduce Test cricket to six teams

Former Indian coach Ravi Shastri wants to reduce Test cricket to six teams. Shastri says this is essential if the quality of Test cricket is to be maintained. Shastri argues that if 10 or 12 teams start playing Tests, it will lose the quality of the format.

“Don’t play ten or twelve teams. If only top 6 teams play Tests, there will be quality. There should be quality above the number of teams. Only then will you get the window to play other matches. The number of teams can be increased in T20 and ODI. However, the number of teams should be reduced in the Test,” said Ravi Shastri.
