”Dear supporters,
My impulsive message born from the sadness and disappointment of Saturday suggests that I have decided to stop my adventure at Standard. It’s wrong. This post was written following management’s decision – a decision you didn’t know regarding – to pour me into core B. My dispute with current management is much more complicated and broader than a salary amount. I have to respect their decision but regret that we try to make it a matter of salary. This is not the case. And I demonstrated it once more this summer, not wanting to leave Standard who wanted to sell me to one of the top 3 clubs in Belgium. I am very sad regarding the turn my adventure is taking with the club of my heart.
By this message, Raskin lets it be understood that he refused to commit to Club Brugge last summer when Standard was ready to sell him. But he is hardly more specific on the reasons why he refuses to extend his lease with Standard.
