In a rare surgery, a medical staff at El-Bir Hospital in the province of Constantine, “in the east of Algeria”, removed a 13-kilogram tumor.

And local media quoted General Surgeon Smati Anis as saying that the surgery was performed on a 57-year-old woman from Constantine.

He explained that it was decided five days ago, and following consultation with the medical staff, to perform the operation for the patient following she visited the emergency department of Al-Bir Hospital.

“All the analyzes were carried out and an adequate amount of blood was provided. When all conditions were available, we decided to perform the operation,” Jarrah told Constantine radio.

The operation lasted 3 hours, during which the tumor weighing 13 kilograms was successfully removed, and the general surgeon Smati Anis pointed out that “we rarely encounter tumors of this size in the uterus.”

The patient, who underwent an operation to remove a tumor weighing 13 kilograms at El-Bir Hospital in Constantine, was discharged from the recovery room on Wednesday morning.

In a statement to Constantine Radio, she confirmed that she was not following any treatment before the operation, and she was not aware of the presence of the blood cyst inside her body, and she did not feel any pain.

And the patient added, “I thought that swelling in the uterine area was due to excess weight and accumulated fat in the place, and I was playing with children at home and I felt great pain, and then I went to an internal doctor, who asked me to go directly to the hospital.”

And the spokeswoman added, “She is still surprised by the size of the blood cyst that was removed from her uterus.”

And she gave advice to all citizens and women regarding the importance of periodic medical examinations and examinations for early detection of possible health problems or diseases.
