Changing his skin from comedy to tragedy was not an easy step, but in the end, as he said, “an artist.” A large number of critics and audiences considered him the successful bet of director Mando El Adl this year, which he deservedly won. As the critic Tariq Al-Shennawi said, Mando is credited with having brought him out of the comedic and social mold into complex roles and with a Sa’idi dialect, “So I saw him as the winning horse this year.” He is the artist, “Ahmed Eid,” who confirmed in his interview with Al-Arabiya.net that he was not afraid of hating him. The audience for the character that he presents through the series “Nadra Currency” following he used during his career, like comedians, to have a loving relationship with the roles he presents, and he also talked regarding the scenes of his preparation for the character and the cinematic works that await him.

180 degrees.. is the change you made with your return to drama once more since 2014?

“Massoud Abdel-Jabbar” is a character that put me in a great challenge and was the reason for completely changing my skin from comic characters to a character with a heart full of hatred, greed and envy. Violence is his weapon and his way .. But the truth is that this is what I was looking for throughout my absence and I found it in the series “Nadra Coin”. Despite the state of fear and anxiety that I was suffering from before I agreed to submit the work. It is not an easy step, especially since I am already returning to the drama following my last work, “His Excellency” in 2014, but I was really pleased with the audience’s reaction, as it has a keen awareness of what makes it greatly differentiate between the role that the artist embodies and his personality in reality, and therefore when He hates, because he hates Masoud Abdel-Jabbar and does not hate Ahmed Eid, and this is what is required, and this is what I consider a great success for me.

How did you receive the audience’s reactions to your role?

I felt very happy, especially since I am in the season that has the largest viewership in all parts of the Arab world, but that put me in a state of challenge and I feel a great responsibility, and I felt some moments of fear, because the audience’s expectations are always very high, so if the actor Well prepared, the rave reception will turn into criticism in an instant, so I was feeling fear at the same time that I was happy to meet my audience this year, despite my initial fear that this welcome would be a measure of sympathy due to my long absence, but thank God.

How did you find working with Mando El Adl in your first collaboration together?

Working with him was basically a surprise to me, as he is one of the directors who loves the actor, and sees the actor well and directs him correctly, and of course this is a very important thing that the director must enjoy in directing the actor and adjusting his performance, and this point is not addressed by directors, but rather they leave it to the actor Considering that acting is the responsibility of the actor, Mando Justice cares regarding the actor, because the director is the one who sees the actor, if he sees him making a mistake, he corrects his mistake, and adjusts his performance, his looks, and his situation, because he studied the character, and this saves the actor a lot, and a good director is the one who shows Actor at its best.

How were you chosen to work?

As for my participation in this work, it came following a phone call with the artistic producer, Mr. Hani Abdullah, and he offered me the role of “Masoud” at the time, so I was afraid at first, as I said before, especially since I am playing the role of Saeedi for the first time, but the director Mando El Adl contacted me and convinced me of the role, but rather He encouraged me to accept it, and I found that if I refused this work I would regret it.

And what preparations have you made for Masoud?

When I agreed to present the character, the first thing that came to my mind was the Upper Egypt dialect. For the first time I speak Upper Egypt, and Upper Egypt is known to have more than one accent, and every province has its own language. I spoke with the dialect corrector, Professor Abdel Nabi al-Hawari, and he was very cooperative. I met him before the preparations. And we talked together regarding the dialect and the structure of speech.

How did you find the cooperation between “Nelly Karim” and “Jamal Suleiman”?

It is the first cooperation that brought me together with each of them artistically, and Nelly deserves the artistic successes she has achieved, as she is a true and humble artist and cooperates with all the participants in the series. She loves her work very much and is loyal to him, and performs her work with commitment and diligence. The viewer, who has great talent and experience, especially in the soap operas, has extraordinary charisma, and a high degree of culture, and I benefited a lot from him.

And did you find what you were looking for years ago in the series “Nadra Coin”?

This work has satisfied my artistic desire and ambition, as I do not concern myself with absolute heroism as much as I am interested in presenting roles that add to me, whether it is heroism or not. In the minds of the audience, whatever the size of the role, I hope to play roles that have space to highlight the acting talent, and I also hope that the roles are different and not repeated, and that the work does not go unnoticed.

How do you see the Ramadan season and the competition in it?

I see that the works participating in the Ramadan season are competitive and complementary at the same time, as it is an honorable competition, but the disadvantage of participating in the Ramadan season is that the preparations for the dramas do not start in sufficient time, as the drama makers start filming regarding 3 months before Ramadan only.

What’s new following “rare currency”?

I am waiting for the release of two films, the first is “People of the Cave” directed by Amr Arafa, and the second is “The Devil Shater”, as the work takes place within a social suspense framework. There are other works for which preparations are being completed, and there will be a great diversity in my new films, and the roles that I present will be a surprise to the audience, and I hope that these works will gain the admiration of the viewers as soon as they are released in the cinema.
