While he has just acquired the hip-hop label Death Row, rapper Snoop Dogg (Calvin Broadus, for civil status) is the subject of a complaint for rape in Los Angeles. Filed Thursday, February 10 in civil court before a federal court, it also targets Bishop Don “Magic” Juan (real name Donald Campbell), presented as the “spiritual advisor” de Snoop Dogg.
According to the story of the complainant, who requested anonymity, she was performing, at the material time, as a dancer, on stage, for the artist and other rappers. After a night out at Snoop Dogg’s studio in May 2013, Campbell offered to drive her home but actually drove her to her own home where, “Exhausted, she had fallen asleep”.
“Humiliated, terrified and panicked”
She accuses Campbell of sexually assaulting her in the early hours, before driving her back to Snoop Dogg’s studio for an audition later that day. Once there, she felt ill and went to the bathroom. Snoop Dogg would then have taken the opportunity to open the bathroom door and force the young woman to perform oral sex while she relieved herself. Before leaving her there, “humiliated, terrified and panicked”according to the complaint.
The young woman is asking for damages in an unspecified amount. The very day of the filing of the complaint, following the failure of a private mediation between the two parties, Snoop Dogg published on his Instagram account that « the season of diamond diggers [gold diggers, en anglais] has begun “. ” Be careful “he launched to his fans in this message, without explicit reference to the complaint but accompanied by emojis representing a policeman, a judge and a bag of money.
On February 9, the rapper, considered one of the richest in the United States, bought the legendary hip-hop label Death Row from the MNRK Music Group, with which he began his career in 1993. And he does part of the stars who will perform in Los Angeles on Sunday in the final of the American football championship, the Super Bowl, one of the most watched events of the year.
