RAPPER Lil Baby was arrested by police on charges of carrying a concealed weapon without a permit in Las Vegas, United States.

The man, whose real name is Dominique Armani Jones, was arrested Monday (Aug. 26). Las Vegas Metropolitan Police confirmed to PEOPLE that the 29-year-old was arrested around 5 a.m. after an incident in the 3100 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard. Additional details were not released.

Court records show he is being held at the Clark County Detention Center and has posted bail. He is due back in court on Oct. 1.

In a joint statement to The Los Angeles Times, his attorneys, Drew Findling and David Chesnoff, said that Lil Baby has a “valid concealed carry (CCW) permit from Georgia.”

“For his part, we are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding his arrest in Las Vegas,” their statement added.

According to the Georgia Attorney General’s website, Nevada does not recognize concealed weapons permits from Georgia.

“Georgia gun license holders should familiarize themselves with the individual requirements and restrictions on Georgia gun licenses in the states in which they may wish to exercise their rights,” the site advises.

“Gun laws vary from state to state and there may be city or county ordinances governing guns in other states.”

According to Billboard, Lil Baby previously faced legal trouble in 2021 when he was arrested while in France for Paris Fashion Week after being cited for allegedly “transporting drugs.” The outlet reported that he was also arrested in Atlanta for reckless driving in February 2019.

Lil Baby released his latest album, It’s Only Me, in 2022. He has been actively celebrating his next project on social media, with his last Instagram post before his arrest stating, “Album 80% Done….. #sorry4thewait.” (People/Z-3)
