Rapper Kaaris was tried this Friday morning by the criminal court of Évry (Essonne) after a complaint from a former partner for domestic violence. Absent, the latter was sentenced to two months in prison for trespassing and damage.

His ex-partner, who filed a complaint against him in 2022, was absent. She was sentenced to two months in prison for “home invasion” and “degradation”.
The hearing started a few dozen minutes late, the judge preferring to wait in the absence of Linda P., complainant and defendant in this case. Absence due to a general misunderstanding about the time of the trial? Kaaris was able to explain the facts with which he was accused. He assured that he had never been violent towards women, such behavior being contrary to his values as a father.
“I am the original bastard but I have never raised my hand on a woman in my life and that is why the court RELAXED me,” Kaaris reacted on social networks.
An “instrumentalization”, in the defense of Kaaris
His ex-partner, whom he dated between 2007 and 2020, and mother of his daughter, Linda P., accused him of having assaulted her on January 19, 2021 in the garage of the rapper’s home in Linas (Essonne), kicking and punching him while tearing out his nails. In her complaint, she claimed to have needed “crutches and a support boot for two weeks”.
Kaaris contested these accusations and claimed for his part that his ex-partner had entered his home illegally by climbing a wall. The rapper, however, decided not to become a civil party on this aspect of the case that the prosecution wished to pursue. At the hearing, the public prosecutor’s office, which had prosecuted the artist, requested a release, considering that the medical certificate presented by the complainant did not demonstrate the link between the violence denounced and her injuries.
“The fight against violence against women is far too noble to be exploited in this way,” lamented at the hearing Me Yassine Yakouti, Kaaris’ lawyer, with Me Yassine Maharsi.
The rapper’s defense says it is “satisfied” with the court’s decision but believes that the whole procedure “leaves a bitter taste”. “For a year, our client was tarnished, concerts had to be canceled, all of this is nothing but exploitation and manipulation,” denounces Me Yakouti to BFMTV.com. A complaint for “slanderous denunciation” has already been filed by Kaaris.
