Rapper Alkapote reminds us in his own way that condoms are free in pharmacies for under-26s

A few days earlier, Wednesday March 27, the French rapper announced a tour of free concerts in pharmacies throughout France by posting a poster on Elon Musk’s social network. A date at the “port pharmacy“from Marseille, the”24/06/2024“, was noted there.

On March 29, he then posted a humorous video detailing this a little more “project” : “The emperor the prescriber offers you a free tour. For seriously ill people and small virgins. More information soon (sic)“.

It was therefore a sort of April Fool’s joke in advance, as revealed in his video posted on Sunday: “So, there are no concerts?someone asks Alkapote. No, there are no concerts. Alkapote is not free! Did you break down or what?“, the rapper replies.

“Free Alkapote in your pharmacy? No. But free condoms in pharmacies for those under 26, yes“, he continues, before adding a few jokes in his register. “Protect yourselves young ‘virgins’ (sic). Come out plastic. Word of the emperor (in reference to his nickname, Editor’s note)“.

A communications operation

It is in reality a communication operation between the pharmaceutical laboratories Majorelle and Alkpote: “The idea is to promote free condoms for under-26s while STIs (sexually transmitted infections) are ‘exploding’ in France and young people have terrifying preconceptions regarding AIDS.”. Majorelle laboratories had already launched an information campaign on social networks in 2023.

As a reminder, condoms have been free in pharmacies for those under 26 since January 1, 2023. A measure effectively motivated by the number of STIs, particularly Chlamydia and gonococcal, on the rise among young people, particularly among men of 15 to 29 years old (+45% between 2017 and 2019 according to presidential data).
