NEW YORK.- The pre-candidate for deputy for Constituency 1-USA and Canada, Cirilo Moronta, is projected as the main winner of the “closed convention” of the PRM, held this Sunday abroad to officially elect the candidate for the national congress in the next elections.
Moronta, during a meeting with the press at 10:30 pm this Sunday at his campaign command at the 809 restaurant in Upper Manhattan, thanked his campaign team, his family and friends who supported him. on this day 24/7, specifying that God took his project in his hands and the results are there.
According to what he stated, the projections are as follows: For him 42%, Servia Iris Familia 25%; Kenia Bidó 20%, and Norberto Rodríguez 13%. These last three seek to be re-elected.
Others who participated were Elvin Tineo, Leopoldo Santos, Miguel Santiago, Modesto R. de los Santos, Roberto Rojas, Pedro Julio Peña, Damarys Muñoz Burgos, Rubén Luna, Antonio López, Bernardo González, Carlos Benjamín, Aridio Alcántara and Diony Alcántara.
“We have to take President Luis Abinader for 4 more years and continue working to add more votes to the party and support the president,” added Moronta.
“We are going to get to Congress to represent all Dominicans,” he stated.
In Constituency 1, a total of three deputies will be elected from the 7 existing abroad. The PRM concentrates in its distribution of voters 78,356 thousand registered in said District: New York (43,607), New Jersey (14,786), and Pennsylvania (5,787).
Likewise, Connecticut (1,196), Washington DC (388), Maryland (1,256), Delaware (118), Ohio (496), North Carolina (276), Massachusetts (7,172), Rhode Island (2,865), New Hampshire (265) , Louisiana (97) and Nevada (27), for a total of 78,356 registered. Those from Canada are not included here.
A high commission of the party in the DR, headed by Dionisio de los Santos, Marte Martínez and Sarah Solís came from the DR to supervise said event.
This convention was not supervised by the JCE, and to guarantee the legitimacy of the event they must use a notary public.
It was unofficially reported that the final results of said conventional process will be announced next Tuesday the 19th through a press conference at the National House of the PRM that will be offered by the National Commission of Internal Elections (CNEI).
