Alappuzha: Authorities have apprehended four additional SDPI members in connection with the killing of BJP OBC Morcha state secretary Ranjith Srinivasan. Law enforcement detained two prime suspects, a conspirator, and an individual who provided a SIM card on Saturday.
Police took into custody Saifuddin, 48, residing in Valiyamaram ward, Alappuzha, and Mohammad Badusha, 27, of Punnapra South Valiyaparambu. These individuals were implicated in the plot. Two Alappuzha locals, who had absconded to a different district after the homicide, were also apprehended. Authorities haven’t disclosed their identities to protect the ongoing probe. Investigators stated the confessions of the apprehended individuals yielded significant information.
Badusha’s arrest stems from allegations of creating counterfeit SIM cards and fraudulent documentation for the perpetrators. Punnapra law enforcement filed additional charges against him for document forgery and deception related to the acquisition and distribution of SIM cards to those involved in the Srinivasan murder. Further investigation will determine if more such SIM cards exist.
