Rania Llewellyn is immediately leaving her role as president and CEO of Laurentian Bank, it was announced Monday morning. Michael Mueller is stepping down as director and chairman of the board of directors.

Éric Provost is named President and CEO and member of the Board of Directors, while Michael Boychuk will immediately assume the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors.

“We have experienced difficulties recently and the board of directors is convinced that Eric will be able to refocus the organization on customer experience and operational efficiency,” indicated in a press release Michael Boychuk, appointed at the same time to the position of President of the council.
Provost, who has worked at the Bank for more than ten years, previously held the position of group head of Personal and Business Banking Services, recalled the financial institution.
“Eric’s appointment as President and CEO follows his exceptional performance at the helm of our Business Services and is part of our formal succession planning process,” added Mr. Boychuk.
Several Laurentian Bank customers still did not have access to their accounts Friday morning, six days following the systems outage.
A week following the start of this computer bug, customers of the financial institution once more reported problems with the BLCDirect service on Saturday morning.
