Rangnick reveals why Ronaldo didn’t take United’s penalty against Arsenal

Manchester United coach Ralph Rangnick has confirmed that he did not know why Cristiano Ronaldo did not pay the penalty that was awarded to the Red Devils once morest Arsenal in the English Premier League.

This came in a press statement made by Rangnick following the match for “Sky Sport”, during which he confirmed that Ronaldo told him following the match the reason.

Rangnick said, stressing that the matter was not in agreement with the Portuguese: “I spoke with Ronaldo following the match and asked him why he left the penalty kick.”

He added: “Ronaldo replied and told me that he did not feel that he should take that penalty, so he told Bruno to take it.”

And he added regarding the confrontation: “We showed our reaction and the improvement in performance in the match compared to what happened in the last Liverpool meeting.”

He continued: “In spite of that, we missed easy goals and another goal at the beginning of the match, and we had the opportunity to clear the ball more than once before scoring them.”

It is worth noting that Manchester United had lost three goals to one once morest Arsenal in the face of the Emirates Stadium, to widen the difference between the two teams to six points, and the Gunners have one game less.
