EIGHT years is not a short time for the group RAN to not release a new album. Fronted by Rayi, Nino and Asta, the group is ready to launch a new album.
“It’s true that the three of us have felt that we haven’t released an album for too long. We’ve tried to make singles, but that’s not RAN’s DNA,” said Rayi in a press statement received on Wednesday (4/9).
Just to note, in the eight-year interval of not making a new album, RAN still produced several singles. Each personnel also often worked with other musicians.
“Initially we thought that with the development of the times and the way people release songs, singles are enough to extend our breath. But this time, we don’t want to just extend our breath, we want to make something really new. Making a single feels like an extended version of what people see from us. Making an album is like being reborn with a completely new concept,” added Nino.
RAN’s new album is scheduled to be released on October 23, 2024, titled Teater Nestapa. Ahead of the album’s release, today, Wednesday (4/9), RAN released a double single titled Rahasia #1 and Rahasia #2 taken from the album.
Rayi explained, this double single broadly describes a love triangle story. Then it becomes unique, these two singles are made in such a way as to be songs with the same story background but from two different perspectives.
“Secret #1 is about someone who is tempted to have a relationship with someone else, while Secret #2 is from the opposite perspective, ‘Am I just someone who is a secret to my partner?’,” said Rayi.
These unusual love themes then become the common thread that RAN tries to present in the new album. To ensure what the contents of RAN’s latest album are like, Rahasia #1 and Rahasia #2 are teasers that are quite clear to explain the next side of RAN’s work in the Indonesian music industry. (M-3)
