BALTIMORE (AP) – Matthew Stafford rocked off three turnovers to guide a comeback Sunday that led the Los Angeles Rams to their fifth straight win by beating the limited but stubborn Baltimore Ravens 20-19.
Stafford threw a seven-yard touchdown pass to Odell Beckham Jr. with 57 seconds left, just following completing a five-yard drive to Beckham with fourth and five yards to go. The Rams played it on a two-point conversion, but they missed. The Ravens, who missed the injured Lamar Jackson for the third game in a row, mightn’t get close to attempt a field goal at the end.
The victory placed the Rams (12-4) at the top of the NFC West, seeking to string together their second division title pending the outcome of the Arizona-Dallas clash.
At some point in the season, Baltimore was 8-3 at the top of the AFC. The Ravens (8-8) have lost five games in a row since then, their longest streak since losing nine in 2007 under Brian Billick, before John Harbaugh took over in 2008.
Four of those losses have been by a total of five points.
The loss eliminated Baltimore from the race for the AFC North title. They are not out of the contention for a playoff spot, but to get in as a wild card team they need to win next week and a lot of help.
