The head coach of Los Angeles RamsSean McVay, announced on Wednesday that Quarterback Matthew Stafford will not play the Kansas City Chiefs.
McVay describes Stafford’s injury as a neck problem, though the quarterback is currently in concussion protocol, The Athletic’s Jourdan Rodrigue reports. The team cannot confirm that he suffered a concussion.
Bryce Perkins will likely step in as LA’s starter as backup John Wolford is suffering from a neck injury.
Stafford missed the Rams’ Week 10 game with a concussion before taking another hard hit on his return last weekend and being re-entered into Concussion Protocol. McVay said Stafford experienced numbness in his legs following Sunday’s hit and underwent further tests on Monday.
