“I don’t think anything forbidden happened, or at least I didn’t notice,” Christoph Schneider explained in a message, titled “My personal thoughts and feelings on the current situation. “, published Friday on Instagram.

The Berlin public prosecutor’s office opened an investigation on Wednesday.

This is the first time that one of the six members of the metal rock band has spoken publicly since the start of the case at the end of May. It was a 24-year-old Irish woman claiming that Till Lindemann drugged and sexually assaulted her following a concert in Lithuania who brought the first charges.

A wave of accusations targeting the singer of the German-speaking group that sold the most albums in the world followed, drawing the outlines of a real system of sexual predation targeting groupies following concerts.
These would have been spotted in the front rows of the concerts, filmed or photographed so that Lindemann might make his choice, before being invited backstage for parties.
Some would then have been drugged before being attacked by the singer.
While the group is in the middle of a European tour, calls for boycotts are increasing and following-concert parties have been banned during a series of dates in Munich.
Berlin made the same decision for the Rammstein concerts scheduled for July in the capital.
Universal Music announced on Thursday that it has suspended the group’s marketing and promotional activities.
